Replacing Rust with Paint

It’s crucial to prevent and remove rust in order to maintain your car’s paint job. Icy winters and salty roads can really eat away at that paint though. After a particularly grueling January in Michigan, you might see rust spots popping up on your vehicle. Don’t worry! Rust spots can be repaired by following a few simple steps.

  1. Sand down the rust spot using sand paper until only shiny metal is visible.
  2. Apply a coat of primer, allow to dry
  3. Apply a coat of auto paint, allow to dry
  4. Apply clear coat, allow to dry
  5. Buff the surfaces to blend

Josh G from ME's #SeaFoamWorks story: "My first experience with Sea Foam was 12 years ago. I had an '87 Ford F-150 that had issues. It was skipping and jumping. A good friend and I did [a tune-up]. We were about to do intake gaskets when my old-school neighbor said, 'Try some Sea Foam.' I was like, 'What's Sea Foam?' [After running it through the fuel system], 10 minutes later and a few trips up the road, suddenly the truck came out of it. Sea Foam saved me time and money. I've used it in everything I own since then. From small engines to my plow truck, it has never let me down. Huge shout-out to your awesome product." ... See MoreSee Less
